Cynical Preparations Underway to Get the MAGA Faithful to Believe an Assured Victory Was Stolen Again

We begin with the cynical preparations underway by the Trump campaign and their propagandists at Fox, Sinclair, Newsmax etc., who are obviously preparing the MAGA faithful for another “Stop the Steal” coup attempt. A chorus of talking heads in unison are claiming Trump will win in a landslide in a blowout election, citing phony polls that have him way ahead in what is clearly a close election. Joining us to discuss how the groundwork is being laid to get the MAGA faithful to believe that an assured victory was stolen once again should Harris win is Joshua Dyck, a Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department and Director of the Center for Public Opinion at the University of Massachusetts where he teaches courses in American politics and political communication. He is the author of Initiatives Without Engagement: A realistic appraisal of direct democracy’s secondary effects.

With Trump and Murdoch etc. Having Made Half of America Hate the Other Half, Putin is Already the Winner of the Election

Then we look further into what could be months of contestation after Tuesday’s vote and speak with Karen Greenberg, director of the Center on National Security at Fordham Law School, a future security fellow at the New America Foundation, a permanent member of the Council on Foreign Relations, as well as the editor-in-Chief of The Aon Cyber Brief. She is the author of The Least Worst Place: Guantanamo’s First 100 Days, Rogue Justice: The Making of the Security State, Subtle Tools: The Dismantling of American Democracy from the War on Terror to Donald Trump, and Our Nation at Risk: Election Integrity as a National Security Issue, co-authored with Julian Zelizer. We discuss how Trump and Murdoch and company have ensured that half of America hates the other half as the country teeters on the brink of civil war with Putin already the winner in this election.

Trump’s Promise to America’s Women “Whether They Like It Or Not”

Then finally with Trump intimating oral sex on a microphone to an adoring crowd after musing about nine bullets striking Liz Cheney in the face, we assess his promise (or threat) to be a protector of women “whether they like it or not.” Joining us is Adele Stan, an independent journalist and longtime chronicler of the right wing of U.S. politics. A winner of the Hillman Prize in Opinion & Analysis Journalism, her work has appeared in Mother Jones, The Nation, and The American Prospect as well as on the op-ed pages of The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.
