The Consequences of Biden Authorizing Missile Strikes From Ukraine Into Russia

We begin with the Biden administration authorizing Ukraine to use US, followed by  French and British longer range missiles to strike into Russia in response to the deployment of North Korean troops by Putin who has yet to respond, although his Kremlin spokesman has issued dire warnings about this escalation. Joining us is Lawrence Wilkerson, a retired United States Army Colonel and former chief of staff to United States Secretary of State Colin Powell. In 2005 he went public with his knowledge that Vice President Cheney had provided the “guidance” that led to America’s torture disgrace in Guantanamo, Abu Ghriab and elsewhere. He is now a Senior Fellow at the Eisenhower Media Network.

Will the Democrats Confront the Economic Conditions That Gave Rise to Right Wing Populism?

Then we will assess how the Democrats cannot move forward to meaningfully address a deepening crisis of liberal democracy without first confronting the economic conditions that gave rise to right-wing populism and speak with Wendy Brown, a professor of Social Science at The Institute For Advanced Study in Princeton. She was formerly a Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley where she was a core faculty member in the Designated Emphasis in Critical Theory. Her books include Undoing the Demos: Neoliberalism’s Stealth Revolution, Walled States, Waning Sovereignty and In the Ruins of Neoliberalism: The Rise of Antidemocratic Politics in the West. Her latest book is Nihilistic Times: Thinking Max Weber and we will discuss her article at Dissent “A Party Out of Touch.”
